Obama and Gaza

Finally Obama breaks his silence and utters a few words of sympathy. He has yet to make any statement condemning the Gaza attack. Why? Because..

“President-elect Obama is closely monitoring global events, including the
situation in Gaza, but there is one president at a time,” said Brooke Anderson, chief national security spokeswoman for Mr. Obama, repeating what has become a mantra for the incoming administration.
But then Mr Obama got involved with the economy.

Obama, who takes office two weeks from Tuesday, has said there can be only one
president at a time — and he repeated that principle Monday "when it comes to
foreign affairs."
But when it comes to the floundering economy, he clearly feels
he cannot sit by until the swearing-in.

Breaking his silence today he repeated this line.

President-elect Barack Obama, breaking his silence about the Gaza conflict,
said the loss of life in Gaza and Israel "is a source of deep concern for me."
But Obama otherwise said he would adhere to his principle that only President
George W. Bush would speak for American foreign policy at this time.

However, when it came to terrorist attacks on Mumbai, apparently America had a different consitution?

"President-elect Obama strongly condemns today's terrorist attacks in
Mumbai, and his thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and
the people of India. These coordinated attacks on innocent civilians demonstrate
the grave and urgent threat of terrorism. The United States must continue to
strengthen our partnerships with India and nations around the world to root out
and destroy terrorist networks. We stand with the people of India, whose
democracy will prove far more resilient than the hateful ideology that led to
these attacks," said Brooke Anderson, Chief National Security
Spokesperson.

  5. So that surprises you?

Being pro peace could get a person killed, following the steps of John F & Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Israel's Rabin, even Jesus Christ.

Being pro war is much safer.

and when it comes to Israel, have you seen Jon Stewart's The Daily Show?
